Grades
The structure of naturally grown wood is very diverse. You find portions that have an even grain free of knots right next to portions which are lively grained.
HARO therefore „grades“ the raw material according to different characteristics to achieve the different designs, each with its own consistent visual appearance:

Wood is a natural product. Deviations in colour, texture
and knots from the samples are therefore possible.
Longstrip patterns may differ in the lamella-length.
Exotic wood species:
Exotic wood species can feature mineral deposits, which
can appear later on as staining on the surface. Mineral
deposits are natural characteristics of certain species of
wood and should cause no reason for complaint.
Thermo wood species:
Due to extensive thermal processes, the wood species
become darker in colouration. The brittleness of the
wood, caused by exertion of heat, can generate the for-
mation of shale on the surface.
A further typical sign of this process is the smell
of the “open fireplace”. As is normal for dark wood
species, thermo-treated woods tend to
become lighter in colour due to exposure to light.
Sauvage Grade:
Due to its lively-natural appearance, the Sauvage
Grade in the wood species beech, oak and larch
is detached from conventional grade specifications.
Knots and cracks are typical optical characteristics.
Given climat fluctuations, the formation of shale on the
surface is possible.
